A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,
SanDee&amelie&the SASPC team

Da Rules/Challenge Rules

Last edit 03. June 2021:

Edit concerning Corona Pandemic issues:

As our prize sponsor DecoArt has been having to adapt to the pandemic situation, they have decided that they will not ship outside the U.S. until at least fall - so we have decided together that there will be no more DecoArt prize bundles this year. So sorry for that - but we are of course so grateful for their generosity and that they have been with us on this challenge blog journey for so long!

The rules apply as usual - with one exeption: the two months long challenges can be entered up to five times per player instead of the usual three.

Thank you for your understanding!

The rules in general:

1. Please link directly to your post, not to your blog when entering the link up. Make sure you use the proper URL so we can access the post and also leave a comment.

2. Please turn off word verification if possible. Thank you!
NEW: please, make sure, your projects entered via facebook, Instagram & Co. can be accessed without having to be friends on facebook or being a follower or whatever else it needs to see your project posts. The team and I cannot see or comment on your entries, if your settings only allow certain people to see your facebook entries. Therefor we cannot consider them with our Top 5 votes and prize draws! Please, also make sure to include the complete link to our challenge blog or actual challenge post - tagging us on Insta via @steampunkchallenges is NOT sufficient. Thank you!

3. Include a link to our challenge blog in your post.

4. No back linking to projects that were created before challenge start date.

5. No advertising via our challenges, please! We will have to delete any entries that lead to selling sites or are meant to lure visitors over to an online shop or private selling site or account. Thank you for your understanding!

6. You may enter a challenge up to 3 times (and combine ours with as many other challenges you like).

7. No digitally created projects please! There are plenty of challenge blogs out there for this special branch of Steampunk creativity. It is allowed to use print outs as part of your creation as long as these are added to your projects by hand and the majority of your project is handmade!  We need to see some stamping, painting, drawing or any mixed media technique with your projects to be able to make them count!
EDIT Nov. 2019: as we have just learned that there are "hybrid" projects too, we would like to clarify that these are also considered digitally created projects and do therefor not meet our challenge rules.

8. All kinds of crafty goodness are happily welcome with our challenges - from tags, cards, art journal pages, ATCs, journaling cards, mail art, altered objects, canvases and mixed media pieces to anything else you can think of - as long as they're handmade and there's a visible hint of Steampunk on them!

9. Prize winners and Top5 are announced on the 15th of the following month

10. Prize winners are always drawn randomly from all proper challenge entries. Each entry counts separately. Prizes have to be claimed within four weeks after their announcement.

11. Please, do not enter videos (exception: short (max.) two-minute videos that only show the finished project). No tutorial videos, please. And of course we ask there is a visible link to our challenge blog with video entries too.

And of course:

Enjoy!

      LG vom DT!

    1. As our rules say "But we need to see some stamping, painting, drawing or any mixed media technique with your projects!" I would say: yes you can. :)

  3. Hi I would like to enter a canvas in this month's challenge that is heavily embellished. Would this be considered 2D or 3D? Thanks!
